Role summary

The Senior Platform Engineer is a high-impact technical role at the forefront of Quantium's enterprise AI and cloud engagements. You will contribute to how we design, build, and deliver intelligent platforms and full-stack AI solutions for some of Australia's most recognised organisations. This is a visible role where your engineering depth and architectural input directly shape how major clients build, scale, and operationalise AI-powered systems.

You will contribute across the full platform engineering stack — from cloud infrastructure and data pipelines through to AI/ML serving layers and application integration — working alongside client architecture, data science, and security teams to support critical technical decisions. AWS experience is a key differentiator in this role, and you will apply that expertise alongside broader platform and full-stack engineering skills to ensure delivery is practical, scalable, and production-ready.

The role blends deep platform engineering capability with a collaborative consulting presence. It is suited to someone who thrives in complex enterprise environments, builds strong stakeholder relationships, and turns technical architecture into real-world outcomes.

How you will make an impact:

• Contribute to the design and delivery of enterprise-scale AI and cloud platforms, supporting technical direction across infrastructure, data engineering, ML serving, and application layers
• Participate actively in client architecture reviews, workshops, and stakeholder forums, contributing platform engineering expertise to shape cloud and AI infrastructure decisions
• Design secure, resilient, and cost-efficient environments, applying clear trade-offs across performance, compliance, and long-term maintainability
• Support the delivery of priority platform and AI engineering engagements, ensuring architectural intent translates into high-quality, production-grade implementation
• Serve as a strong technical contributor across streams, reviewing designs, elevating engineering standards, and assisting in resolving complex platform challenges
• Apply and advocate for AWS best practices where relevant, leveraging cloud-native capabilities to differentiate Quantium's delivery approach
• Contribute to the development of reusable platform patterns, infrastructure-as-code assets, and engineering standards across the team
  
  

The superpowers you'll bring to the team:

• Proven experience in a Senior platform, full-stack, or cloud engineering role, delivering complex, production-grade systems at enterprise scale
• Strong full-stack platform engineering capability spanning infrastructure (IaC, networking, security), data pipelines, and application or API layers
• Experience designing and deploying AI/ML workloads in production environments, including model serving, orchestration, and monitoring
• Meaningful AWS experience — ideally at professional certification level or equivalent — as a core differentiator; exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments is advantageous
• A pragmatic mindset that balances architectural quality with delivery reality and commercial considerations
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
• Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional delivery teams including data scientists, product managers, and client stakeholders
