Business Development Manager - CommbankIQ
Who is Quantium?
Quantium is a world leader in data science and artificial intelligence. Established in Australia in 2002, Quantium is a global team of more than 1,200 people across 14 locations with a unique blend of capabilities across product and consulting services to help businesses unlock value from data and analytics. Quantium partners with the world's largest corporations to forge a better, more intelligent world.
CommBank iQ is a joint venture between Quantium and Commonwealth Bank of Australia — combining CBA's transaction data from millions of Australian consumers with Quantium's advanced data science and AI capabilities. We provide businesses with the most granular, actionable consumer insights available in Australia, helping clients across the Visitor Economy — including local government, tourism and major events — make smarter, evidence-based decisions.
Our clients across the Visitor Economy subscribe to our products — Council iQ, Destination iQ and Events iQ — on a daily basis, and we're growing. As a Client Partner, you will be at the forefront of that growth, bringing CommBank iQ's world-class data products to the organisations that need them most.
- Drive new business growth: Identify and pursue new client opportunities across local government, regional tourism and major events — with a pipeline of approximately 150 high-potential prospects ready to be unlocked
- Own the sales process end-to-end: From outreach and relationship building through to demonstration, proposal and close — you'll lead the full commercial conversation
- Be a data storyteller: Translate the power of CommBank iQ's unique transaction dataset into compelling, commercially relevant narratives that resonate with senior stakeholders
- Shape tailored solutions: Work with our analytics, product and engineering teams to identify where Council iQ, Destination iQ and Events iQ — or bespoke data solutions — can solve real client challenges
- Maintain accurate pipeline discipline: Keep CRM reporting sharp and contribute market intelligence back to the team to sharpen our go-to-market approach
- Build for the long term: Help grow a small, high-visibility team where your contributions are seen, recognised and rewarded
- Commercial experience: Approximately 4+ years in a sales, business development or client-facing commercial role — ideally in data, technology, banking or a related field
- Data fluency: Comfortable working with data products and able to understand and communicate the nuances of transaction data to non-technical audiences
- Tenacity and creativity: You know how to get in front of the right people — whether that's a council CEO or a tourism board — and you're energised by the challenge of opening doors
- Stakeholder confidence: Proven ability to present to and influence senior decision-makers across both private and public sector organisations
- Curiosity about AI: A genuine interest in how data, AI and analytics are reshaping industries and a desire to be part of that story
- Ambition: You want to get ahead — you're looking for a role where great work doesn't go unnoticed, and where there's a clear path to take on more
Remember — you might not tick all the boxes, but don't let that stop you from applying. We're more interested in your energy, commercial instincts and drive to make an impact.
- Forge your path: So many of our team have moved around different teams or offices. You'll be in the driver's seat, and we empower you to make your career your own.
- Find your kind: Embrace diversity and connect with your tribe (think foodies, dog lovers, readers, or runners).
- Make an impact: Leave your mark. Your contributions resonate, regardless of your role or rank.
- Flexible work arrangements: Achieve work-life balance at your own pace with hybrid and flexible work arrangements.
- Global mobility: As we expand globally, there are lots of exciting opportunities to work abroad with Quantium.
- Remote working: Embrace the opportunity to work outside of your assigned home location for up to 2 months every year.
