Expressions of Interest - Engineering

Sydney

Who is Quantium?

Quantium is a world leader in data science and artificial intelligence. Established in Australia in 2002, Quantium is a global team of more than 1,200 people across 14 locations with a unique blend of capabilities across product and consulting services to help businesses unlock value from data and analytics. Quantium partners with the world's largest corporations to forge a better, more intelligent world.

We’re hiring across multiple levels in our Engineering team across Sydney and Melbourne, and we want to hear from you — whether you’re mid-career, or a seasoned engineer or leader.

At Quantium, you’re not building infrastructure that sits in the background. You’re designing and building the distributed systems, data pipelines and platforms that make it possible to deploy AI and analytics solutions at scale — in production, with real-world impact. Our engineers work on technically complex challenges alongside some of the sharpest minds in the industry.

We’re currently accepting expressions of interest, from individual contributors through to executives across three engineering disciplines:

Data Engineer

Building and maintaining the data pipelines, ingestion frameworks and transformation layers that move data reliably from source to insight — at the scale and speed our clients and analytics teams need.

Software Engineer

Developing the applications, APIs and decision engines that bring our AI and analytics products to life — building robust, scalable software that is deployed directly into client operations.

Platform Engineer

Architecting and managing the cloud infrastructure, tooling and engineering platforms that underpin our data and AI systems — ensuring reliability, security and scalability across our client environments.

How will you make an impact?

Regardless of your discipline or level, your work at Quantium will be hands-on and consequential. Across our Engineering team you can expect to:

  • Design and build data pipelines, platforms and systems that power AI and analytics solutions deployed in production
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts and product teams to bring cutting-edge AI and analytics capabilities to life
  • Solve technically complex, large-scale engineering challenges in cloud and distributed environments
  • Work in small, cross-functional teams where your contribution is visible and your craft is valued
  • Share knowledge, grow your skills and help shape the engineering culture at Quantium

The superpowers you’ll be bringing to the team

We’re interested in people who bring strong engineering foundations, genuine curiosity and a drive to deliver. Depending on the role and level you’re interested in, you might have:

  • Experience designing, building and maintaining data pipelines, software systems or cloud infrastructure in a production environment
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and tools, with the ability to adapt across different tech stacks as needed
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure, and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • AI curiosity and awareness: you’re genuinely excited about the role engineering plays in making AI work at scale, and actively engaged with how the landscape is evolving
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts clearly for a range of audiences

Remember — you might not tick every box, but don’t let that stop you from applying. We’re more interested in how you think, how you work, and the impact you want to make.

What could your Quantium experience look like?

Working at Quantium will allow you to challenge your imagination. You will get to solve complex problems using rigour, precision and by asking great questions — but it also means you can think big, outside the box and push your problem-solving skills to the max.

By joining the Quantium team, you’ll get to:

  • Forge your path: So many of our team have moved across different teams or offices. You’ll be in the driver’s seat, and we empower you to make your career your own.
  • Find your kind: Embrace diversity and connect with your tribe (think foodies, dog lovers, readers, or runners).
  • Make an impact: Leave your mark. Your contributions resonate, regardless of your role or rank.

Benefits

On top of the Quantium experience, you will enjoy a range of great benefits that go beyond the ordinary. Some of these include:

  • Structured hybrid work arrangements: Hybrid working is how we operate at Quantium — with 3 days a week in the office and the flexibility to work from home for the remainder, so you can balance collaboration with focused, deep work in a way that works for you.
  • Continuous learning: Our vision is empowering our people to thrive. Our Analytics and Engineering Community fosters the development of individuals, thought leadership and technical excellence through building strong connections, fostering collaboration, and co-creation of best practice.
  • Discounts and perks: Enjoy access to a range of generous discounts from Woolworths, exclusive banking products and novated leasing.
  • Health and wellness: Access corporate gym discounts and fuel your fitness needs with our weekly workout program and sporting teams.
