The Executive Manager - AI Engineering & Consulting role is a senior engineering leadership position responsible for scaling how Quantium delivers AI transformation for some of Australia’s largest enterprises. You will lead a growing global AI engineering organisation while helping major companies modernise their engineering capability and become AI-first.

This role exists at a pivotal moment for Quantium. Demand from enterprise clients is rapidly increasing as organisations look to embed AI into their engineering platforms, products, and operating models. We are already delivering large-scale AI programs for leading organisations, and this role will help turn those engagements into a repeatable, scalable capability.
You will sit at the intersection of engineering leadership, enterprise consulting, and AI delivery. Leading multiple engineering squads, you will guide complex client programs while helping establish the methodologies, practices, and playbooks that define Quantium’s AI consulting capability.
This is a highly visible role where your leadership will influence both how our teams deliver AI and how enterprise clients build their future engineering organisations. Success in this role comes from combining strong engineering leadership with the ability to operate credibly in complex enterprise environments, translating ambitious AI strategies into pragmatic, scalable delivery.

How will you make an impact?

  • Lead and grow a global AI engineering team, supporting multiple squads delivering AI and data solutions for major clients
  • Guide complex AI transformation engagements, helping enterprise engineering teams adopt AI-first ways of working and embed modern engineering practices
  • Represent Quantium’s engineering capability in senior client conversations, translating strategic ambitions into practical delivery approaches
  • Establish repeatable methodologies and playbooks for AI-enabled engineering transformation, turning individual engagements into scalable consulting capability
  • Support and mentor engineering leaders, building a strong technical leadership capability
  • Provide technical and architectural guidance where needed, helping teams navigate complex delivery challenges across AI, data platforms, and modern engineering environments
  • Balance delivery excellence with long-term capability building, ensuring teams deliver strong outcomes while continuously improving how we work

The superpowers you’ll be bringing to the team:

  • Proven experience leading large AI, data, or engineering delivery teams, ideally across multiple squads or enterprise programs
  • Strong client-facing experience, with the ability to communicate technical concepts credibly with senior engineering and business stakeholders
  • A track record of building and scaling engineering capability, including growing teams, establishing practices, or leading transformation initiatives
  • First-principles thinking, with the ability to adapt your approach rather than applying rigid playbooks from previous environments
  • Exceptional people leadership, with a demonstrated ability to coach engineering managers, build trust across teams, and develop high-performing organisations
  • Technical depth across modern AI, data, platform or application engineering, with ability to zoom in and out between strategic thinking and technical detail when needed
