The Senior AWS Engineer is a high-impact, hands-on role at the forefront of Quantium’s enterprise cloud and AI engagements. Based in Sydney, you will design and build AWS-based solutions for some of Australia’s most recognised organisations, helping them scale securely and effectively in the cloud.

This is a visible role where your technical judgement directly influences client architecture and delivery decisions. You will work closely with client engineering, architecture and security teams to design and implement AWS solutions across platform, infrastructure, data, application and AI use cases.

While you will contribute to architecture and design, this is not a purely advisory role. You will actively build and implement solutions using Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform preferred, and work alongside delivery teams to ensure ideas become secure, scalable, production-ready systems.

The role requires strong AWS engineering fundamentals, practical problem-solving and the ability to operate across a range of cloud challenges. Experience with greenfield platform foundations, account structures, IAM and networking is valuable, but we are equally interested in engineers who can reason through trade-offs, work across AWS services, and adapt to different client and product contexts.

How you will make an impact:

• Design and build AWS-based solutions across platform, infrastructure, data, application and AI use cases
• Shape cloud architecture for enterprise clients, helping them make sound decisions around security, scalability, cost and maintainability
• Work directly with client engineering, architecture and security teams in workshops, design discussions and delivery planning
• Implement infrastructure and cloud services using Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform preferred
• Translate ambiguous client problems into clear technical options, recommendations and production-ready solutions
• Contribute to reusable patterns, design reviews and engineering practices that strengthen Quantium’s AWS capability

The superpowers you’ll bring to the team:

• Strong hands-on AWS engineering experience across production systems
• Broad AWS fundamentals across compute, storage, IAM, networking, observability and managed services
• Experience building with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Ability to move between architecture, design and hands-on implementation
• Strong engineering judgement across service selection, reliability, security, cost and delivery trade-offs
• Clear communication, ownership and comfort working with clients in complex enterprise environments
