We're looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join our Melbourne team, delivering high-quality care to clients while playing a key leadership role in the growth, performance and culture of our Melbourne Occupational Therapy team.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical work

  • Assess and manage the needs of clients, and provide expert advice and treatment options
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the delivery of care
  • Utilise advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical programs and services
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with documentation requirement
  • Provide clinical support and coaching to junior Occupational Therapists
  • Continually review our current processes with an eye for improvements, including updating our team wiki with best practice
  • Prepare training and educational materials for the organisations we work closely with
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and develop strategies to enhance the quality of care
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to the Melbourne Occupational Therapy team; you’ll be supported by the National Head of OT
  • Regularly check in with team members to understand performance, workload, development needs and wellbeing.
  • Support clinicians through complex cases, professional challenges and difficult client or stakeholder situations.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns
  • Support onboarding and integration of new Occupational Therapists into the Melbourne team
  • Identify development opportunities and support clinicians to build their clinical and professional capabilities
  • Assist with performance reviews, goal setting and ongoing development planning
  • Support succession planning and identify emerging leaders within the team
  • Collaborate with the National Head of OT on team planning, workforce needs and organisational priorities
  • Ensure that all compliance requirements are met, including team certifications are up to date

Organisational Growth

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and the National Head of OT to identify workforce needs and recruit high-quality Occupational Therapists
  • Proactively create knowledge sharing opportunities across Nimbus Health
  • Contribute to company and departmental training sessions
  • Act as a brand advocate for Nimbus Health

About You

  • Bachelor Degree of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • A valid Australian driver's license
  • Regular access to a car
  • At least 5+ years' experience, with previous leadership, mentoring or team coordination experience
  • A genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing teams
  • Ability to balance the needs of individual team members with broader team and organisational priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of a range of occupational therapy treatment modalities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload of clients and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A positive attitude and strong desire to make a difference in clients' lives
