Operations Analyst

Australia

The Opportunity:

Janus Electric is revolutionising heavy transport by converting diesel trucks to electric and building a national swappable battery network. We are scaling fast and need a skilled, analytical Operations Analyst to help us run and scale the business efficiently from our Central Coast facility.

We are seeking an Operations Analyst who will play a critical role in bringing data, systems, and process discipline to how Janus operates. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will turn operational data into insight, build the reporting and rhythm that keeps the business on track, and drive the technical efficiency through better process, automation, and systems that allows a lean team to scale. The role is central to how we make decisions, measure performance, and continuously improve as we grow.

What You Will Do:

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve operational reporting and dashboards, turning data from across the business into clear insight for the executive team and Board.
  • Drive technical efficiency across the operation through identifying opportunities to streamline, automate, and redesign processes, and implementing the tools and systems that deliver measurable improvement.
  • Pull together and analyse data across functions (production, supply chain, engineering, sales, and finance) to surface trends, risks, and opportunities, and support faster, better decisions.
  • Map, document, and improve ways of working, roles and responsibilities, and standard operating procedures, creating a benchmark for how the business runs as it scales.
  • Support the operating rhythm and cadence, such as preparing the reporting and analysis that underpins weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
  • Support headcount planning and workforce analysis, connecting people data to operational demand and growth plans.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to scope, plan, and project-manage operational improvement initiatives from idea to implementation.
  • Help build the systems and AI-enablement layer that improves organisational effectiveness, moving beyond individual tools to genuine process redesign.
  • Track the impact of improvements and report progress against operational targets and KPIs.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, data/analytics, information systems, commerce, or a similar field.
  • 3+ years' experience in an operations, business, or data analyst role, ideally in a scaling, manufacturing, or operations-intensive business.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex, messy data into clear insight and recommendations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar); comfort learning new systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to map and improve processes, and to drive efficiency and automation.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to plan, prioritise, and make decisions under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to make the complex simple.
  • Desirable: experience with process automation or AI tools; project management experience; familiarity with ticketing/workflow systems (e.g. JIRA); exposure to production, supply chain, or workforce data; and experience building reporting from the ground up.
