The Opportunity:

Janus Electric is revolutionising heavy transport by converting diesel trucks to electric and building a national swappable battery network. We are scaling fast and need a skilled, detail-oriented Electrical Engineer in USA to help bring our next generation of zero-emission trucks to life.

We are seeking for an Electrical Engineer - USA, who will design, develop, manufacture, install, operate, and maintain the electronics, power control systems, safety systems, and vehicle- to-vehicle communication for the Janus Electric Solution.The Janus Solution encompasses the conversion of diesel trucks to battery electric vehicles, exchangeable batteries, and charging infrastructure.

What You Will Do:

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components up to 1000VDC and mains 415VAC
  • Design and develop industrial electrical cabinets for charge stations with high-quality switchgear.
  • Design and develop vehicle low voltage harness, high voltage shield cable and power distribution
  • Improve swappable battery electrical system and coupling design for production.
  • Work with electrical component suppliers to meet Janus requirements.
  • Ensure that it meets EMC and noise reduction requirements.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with AS3000, AS3008, AD109, UN38, UL and relevant standards
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to electrical systems and components, including reports and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure that all products meet safety, performance, and reliability standards.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in automotive electrical engineering technology.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian and international electrical engineering standards, such as AS3000, AS3008, AD109, and UN38.
  • Experience using, or a desire to learn, required design software such as Caresoft Arcadia, and proficiency in design and calculation software more broadly.
  • Solar and battery storage experience, and UL or ADR109 certification experience, are advantageous.
  • Strong skills in electronic testing design, production technologies, systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with strong organisational, attention to detail, and planning skills.
  • Competent in problem-solving, technical management, and decision-making, with a quality focus and drive for process improvement.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking, with the ability to research and report results, and stay deadline-focused under pressure.
