Payroll & HR Specialist, ANZ

Sydney

About the Company

At Future Secure AI, we're building something genuinely new — and we're looking for people bold enough to build it with us. We work at the frontier of AI, tackling big, real-world problems for global enterprises across multiple industries, armed with state-of-the-art technology and a culture that prizes courage, rigor, and relentless curiosity. Our BRAVER values aren't just words on a wall — they describe the kind of people we are and the standard we hold ourselves to every day. Our leadership team is entrepreneurial, experienced, and accessible, with an open-door policy that means you'll never be just a number here. We invest seriously in your growth because we know our success depends on yours. If you're ready to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, push into uncharted territory, and do work that genuinely matters, Future Secure AI is the place for you.

The Role

Payroll is the one thing people notice immediately when it goes wrong, and rarely when it goes right. If you take quiet pride in getting it right every time, this role is for you.

At Future Secure AI, we build AI Co-Workers for leading companies across ANZ and North America. We're growing fast, and our People and Culture team needs a specialist to make sure our people data, pay and documentation are precise, compliant and well run across ANZ.

You'll be the owner of our ANZ payroll data and core HR records. Working with our external payroll vendor, you'll manage the full data flow behind the monthly pay run for two countries, two sets of legislation and a constantly changing workforce. You'll also keep Deel accurate as our single source of truth and produce the HR documentation that supports the employee lifecycle.

You'll report to the Senior Director, People and Culture, and work closely with HR Business Partners, Finance and the wider business.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage payroll inputs for new starters, terminations, pay changes, leave and other variations, and make sure each one is captured accurately and on time
  • Partner with our payroll vendor on the monthly AU and NZ pay run, including input files, queries and output validation
  • Reconcile data before submission and review post-payroll reports, escalating discrepancies early
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and end-of-financial-year processes, including statutory and compliance items such as superannuation, PAYG, KiwiSaver and leave liability
  • Own the integrity of core HR data in Deel, run regular audits, and resolve sync issues across connected systems such as Greenhouse
  • Prepare accurate HR data and reports for the business and HRBPs
  • Produce employment contracts, variation letters, confirmation of employment letters and other correspondence, and maintain our template library
  • Be the first point of contact for employee payroll, leave and Deel queries, handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Support payroll audits and keep records in line with company policy and AU/NZ requirements

About You

  • 5+ years in payroll administration, HR systems or HR operations in Australia and New Zealand
  • Hands-on experience with Deel or a comparable HRIS and payroll platform
  • Experience running a monthly payroll cycle with an outsourced payroll vendor
  • Working knowledge of AU and NZ payroll and employment fundamentals, including PAYG, super, KiwiSaver, leave entitlements, the National Employment Standards and NZ employment law basics
  • A methodical approach to data entry and reconciliation, with a sharp eye for the detail others miss
  • Highly organised and process-driven, with a habit of spotting data issues and process improvements before they become problems
  • Clear, professional writing, with experience drafting HR documentation
  • A service mindset, with the judgement to handle confidential information well
  • Confidence working to firm monthly deadlines while juggling competing priorities

Why Join Us

A role with real ownership across two countries, with visibility to senior leadership

  • A competitive salary
  • The chance to shape how payroll and HR data run in a high-growth AI company
  • Hybrid role with new office in Circular Quay
