We aim to accelerate the decarbonization of the global shipping industry by driving a shift away from fossil fuels toward green fuels, focusing on the financial institutions that enable the construction of new fossil-fueled vessels, and encouraging them to align their portfolios and commitments with a zero-emission shipping future.
We work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by assessing banks, export credit agencies (ECAs), and other capital providers on their shipping portfolios, climate commitments, alignment with decarbonization pathways, and the harms caused by continued fossil fuel vessel financing.

Produce applied research on the financial institutions that finance new vessel construction; analyzing their shipping portfolios, climate commitments, and alignment (or misalignment) with decarbonization pathways
Trace vessel financing structures (syndicated loans, ECA facilities, bond financing, leasing) to identify which lenders are enabling new fossil fuel vessel orders
Draft policy proposals and advocacy materials addressing financial instructions globally
Produce content that highlights the harms of financing fossil-fueled vessels
Communicate and quickly build strong relationships with domestic and international climate and finance organizations, including research institutes
Support relevant campaigns and the hosting of events, including seminars

Background in shipping, ship finance, or financial industry
Degree or work/research experience related to finance, climate, energy, or environment
Experience writing policy proposals, reports, or research articles, and/or experience with quantitative analysis
Research, advocacy, or campaign experience in civil society, research institutes, or think tanks

우리는 화석연료에서 친환경 연료로의 전환을 추진하여 글로벌 해운업계의 탈탄소화를 가속화하는 걸 목표로 하고 있어요. 이를 위해 신규 화석연료 선박 건조를 가능케 하는 금융기관들에 주목하고, 이들이 넷제로 해운의 미래에 부합하도록 포트폴리오와 약속을 정비하도록 유도하고 있어요.
은행, 수출신용기관(ECA), 그 외 자본 공급자들의 해운 포트폴리오, 기후 공약, 탈탄소화 경로와의 정합성, 그리고 화석연료 선박 금융 지속에 따른 피해를 평가하는 방식으로 온실가스 배출 감축을 위해 노력하고 있어요.

신규 선박 건조에 자금을 지원하는 금융기관에 대한 응용 리서치 수행. 이들의 해운 포트폴리오, 기후 공약, 탈탄소화 경로와의 정합성(또는 불일치) 분석
선박금융 구조(신디케이트론, ECA 파이낸싱, 채권 발행, 리스 등)를 추적하여 신규 화석연료 선박 발주를 가능케 하는 대출기관 파악
전세계 금융기관을 대상으로 한 정책 제안서 및 애드보커시 자료 작성
화석연료 선박 금융 지원의 폐해를 조명하는 콘텐츠 제작
국내외 기후·금융 관련 기관(리서치 기관 포함)과의 신속하고 강력한 관계 구축 및 소통
관련 캠페인 지원 및 세미나 등 행사 주최 지원
