2027 AI Equity Long/Short (ELS) Fellowship

Location: Hong Kong or Singapore (final placement will be determined by the firm based on business needs)
Duration: July to December 2027, full time
Commitment: Six months

With offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Dubai, the firm invests in local talent to build deep expertise across Asia's markets. We are hiring a class of Equity Long/Short Fellows to join our fundamental equities investment teams in Hong Kong and Singapore. Fellows will receive structured training and mentorship before being embedded with investment teams, where they will support company research, financial analysis, and long/short idea development, using AI tools as part of the research workflow. Strong performers may be considered for full-time conversion, subject to business needs and applicable internal policies.

Ideal candidates are intellectually curious, analytical, proactive, and interested in public markets and fundamental equity investing, with strong judgement, attention to detail, communication skills, and learning agility.

Job responsibilities
• Conduct fundamental research and due diligence on companies and industry sectors, using traditional and alternative data sources to help assess potential long and short investments.
• Build and maintain investment materials such as financial models, earnings trackers, comparable company analysis, valuation frameworks, company primers, and investment memos.
• Use data and AI tools to improve research workflows, including screening, document review, transcript analysis, summarisation, data organisation, and knowledge management, in accordance with applicable internal policies
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and relevant internal teams to ensure research is accurate, well-structured, and useful for investment decision-making.

Job requirements

• Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a BS/BA or MS in Finance, Economics, Business, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in public equities, company analysis, and long/short investing, shown through internships, coursework, investing clubs, stock pitches, personal research, or market-related projects.
• Strong accounting, financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills, or a clear motivation to develop them quickly.
• Confident using data, research platforms, and AI tools to support investment analysis, while maintaining independent judgement, critically evaluating AI-generated outputs and verifying key information against reliable sources; working knowledge of agentic AI workflows and Python/SQL is a plus.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in research, modelling, and written materials.
• Candidates should be able to commit to a six-month fellowship and be open to spending part of the programme in either our Hong Kong or Singapore office, depending on rotation needs and business requirements.
• Proficiency in English is required; Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, or other regional language skills would be valuable.
