- Build continuous delivery and the path from research code to production, supporting the move from daily to intraday operation
- Own the cloud infrastructure: identity and access, networking, compute, storage, and cost
- Run the production platform: Linux fleet, containers, orchestration runtime, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Establish resilience and security foundations: disaster recovery, secrets, certificates, endpoint management, access reviews
- Support the evaluation and design of a hybrid extension with on-premises capacity
- 5+ years in software or platform engineering, including sole or small-team ownership of production systems

- Full-stack development experience: services, APIs, and front ends
- Data engineering in production: pipelines, storage design, and a workflow orchestrator (Prefect, Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
- Depth in a major cloud provider, ideally Azure; hybrid or on-premises experience
- Linux administration and production Docker experience
- Practical security engineering and networking fundamentals; experience running on-call for systems with strict deadlines and uptime requirements
