Financial Accountant

Our finance team plays a critical role in enabling this—bringing structure, clarity, and discipline to support growth.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant who can bring both technical strength and practical judgement to a fast-moving, multi-entity environment.

This role is about more than just accurate reporting. You will be responsible for creating clarity from complexity—owning month-end and year-end processes, consolidating across entities, and helping the business understand its financial position in a way that supports better decisions.

You’ll work closely with teams across the business, many of whom are not finance specialists, and help translate financial information into something actionable.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

• Own and deliver month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and discipline
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with IFRS
• Lead consolidation across multiple entities within the group
• Maintain strong financial controls in a rapidly-scaling environment

Planning & Insight

• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Analyse financial performance and provide clear, practical insights
• Help identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities across the business

Systems & Process Improvement

• Work within and improve ERP-driven processes
• Identify where things are not working efficiently and implement pragmatic improvements
• Build and maintain robust financial models in Excel

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and support junior members of the finance team
• Partner effectively with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
• Take ownership of key reporting deadlines and ensure delivery
• Communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders

About You

You are technically strong, but also pragmatic.

• Deep understanding of IFRS and financial reporting
• Proven experience with month-end, year-end, and multi-entity consolidation
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting

You are analytical and solutions-focused.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Able to interpret data and translate it into clear, useful insights
• Comfortable identifying issues and driving improvements

You are systems-savvy.

• Experience with ERP systems
• Advanced Excel capability (modelling, analysis, structuring data)

You work well in a startup environment.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
• Take ownership and follow through
• Able to balance accuracy with pace

You can work with people.

• Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
• Confident engaging with non-financial stakeholders
• Clear and direct communicator

  We are developing the fastest and highest-flying aircraft ever to take off from a runway, combining the extreme performance of rocket propulsion with the reusability of conventional airplanes to enable high-frequency, low-cost access to sub-orbital space.

Our international teams are distributed across four locations: the Netherlands, France, New Zealand, and the USA.
