Senior Fullstack Engineer

About 10x Labs

We wrap our arms around businesses and help them scale. We work with enterprises and fast-growing companies to implement AI strategy, workflow automation, and build custom software. Not as a vendor, but as a genuine partner with skin in the game.

We move at a pace most businesses have never experienced, and we hold ourselves to a standard most agencies can't match. We don't pitch solutions. We sit with our clients, understand where they're stuck, and build the systems that get them unstuck. Quickly and properly.

The work is the kind engineers actually want: agent-first platforms running national field operations at around 90% automation, electric vehicle operating systems for everything from cars to trucks and buses, AI making real operational decisions in regulated industries, and rescues of platforms other teams couldn't deliver. And for the right businesses we go further. We unlock them: we build new products we come up with together, and we bring in capital through equity or debt to fund the growth those initiatives create.

Our founders have built energy flex markets, led transactions of billion-dollar businesses, and built software agencies that consistently deliver engineers in the top 3% globally. That pedigree shapes how we think, how we work, and what we expect from the people who join us.

The role

Let's be honest about most fullstack roles: you're a frontend developer who's allowed to touch the API, or a backend engineer who gets handed the React bits nobody else wants. That's not this. This is a true 50/50 fullstack seat on a small, senior team where backend, frontend and design run in parallel, and your architectural input is expected, not just welcomed.

You'll be working on a ground-up rebuild of a platform that runs care operations for Australia's disability and aged-care sectors: rostering, timesheets, payroll, claims, funding management and participant coordination. Providers spend a huge share of their day on admin. Software that gets this right hands that time back, and that time turns into care delivered.

These aren't CRUD-app problems. Four government funding streams treated as one funding-agnostic architecture, so a new stream plugs in without reworking claim logic. Direct integration with government systems: NDIS and Support at Home APIs, PRODA and DEX. Award interpretation that reads SCHADS rules to drive payroll. Multi-tenancy for hundreds of organisations on shared infrastructure with row-level security. AI agents wired into production workflows. The stack is TypeScript end-to-end: React 19 and Tailwind on the front, Bun services in a shared-core monorepo on AWS serverless, PostgreSQL on Aurora Serverless v2, Prisma, and Terraform. Foundations are complete, the build has real momentum, and there's a real deadline. One week you're building a drag-and-drop roster calendar; the next you're designing multi-tenant schemas or wiring an AI agent into production.

What you will do

  • Ship features end-to-end: from Figma design to React/TypeScript UI, through API design, data modelling and deployment
  • Build responsive, accessible front ends in React and Tailwind, with real attention to interaction detail: calendars, drag-and-drop, complex forms
  • Design and build backend services in TypeScript on Bun, with PostgreSQL and Prisma, including multi-tenant data models and row-level security
  • Integrate government and finance systems: NDIS, Support at Home, PRODA, DEX, Xero, KeyPay and MYOB
  • Build AI-powered features that take real work off people's plates, and use AI tooling daily to multiply your own output
  • Write meaningful tests, build the observability that lets us deploy daily with confidence, and support what you ship in production

What you bring

Required

  • 4+ years of professional engineering experience with production ownership across both frontend and backend
  • Strong TypeScript on both sides of the stack: modern React on the front end, Node or Bun services on the back
  • Solid SQL and data modelling: comfortable designing schemas, writing migrations and reasoning about relational data
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs, and integrating external systems
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development: you already ship with tools like Claude Code or Cursor, and you want to push them further
  • Clear, proactive communication that works in a remote-first team

Strongly preferred

  • Multi-tenant SaaS architecture: tenancy isolation, row-level security, per-tenant configuration
  • AWS serverless (Lambda, Aurora Serverless, queues and workers) and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
  • Experience building complex interactive UIs: scheduling and calendar interfaces, dashboards, data-heavy forms
  • Flex market and energy systems experience is always a big bonus

Nice to have

  • Experience building with LLM APIs, agents or AI automation in production
  • Exposure to payments, payroll, invoicing, claims processing, or the disability and aged-care domain

Why this role

Fullstack roles where you own the architecture, ship to production daily, and put AI agents into systems that matter are rare. This one comes with government-scale integration problems, a senior team that moves fast, and direct access to the founders. Your decisions will be in production the same week you make them, and the software you ship hands time back to people delivering care. We're selective about who joins. We hire people who can own a problem end to end and want to be stretched. If that's you, apply.

What you get

  • A competitive package that reflects the calibre we hire at
  • Access to every AI tool on the market (as long as it has passed security ;) with team support and budget to get you set up and moving fast
  • Hard, interesting problems: real AI in production, real scale, real consequences. Not demos and decks
  • Direct access to some of the most experienced operators in the country
  • A team that will stretch you, back you, and make you better

The interview process

Our process is straightforward and moves fast:

  1. A short video interview. A quick conversation to get a feel for who you are and how you think. We know engineers hate this. The only people who don't hate it are in sales. But it's an important and necessary step, and if you can't push outside your comfort zone, you're not going to fit in here.
  2. A technical deep-dive. We'll put you through your paces on real problems, not puzzles.
  3. A final conversation with the founders.

We move quickly for the right person.
