Data Integration Engineer
About 10x Labs
We wrap our arms around businesses and help them scale. We work with enterprises and fast-growing companies to implement AI strategy, workflow automation, and build custom software. Not as a vendor, but as a genuine partner with skin in the game.
We move at a pace most businesses have never experienced, and we hold ourselves to a standard most agencies can't match. We don't pitch solutions. We sit with our clients, understand where they're stuck, and build the systems that get them unstuck. Quickly and properly.
The work is the kind engineers actually want: agent-first platforms running national field operations at around 90% automation, electric vehicle operating systems for everything from cars to trucks and buses, AI making real operational decisions in regulated industries, and rescues of platforms other teams couldn't deliver. And for the right businesses we go further. We unlock them: we build new products we come up with together, and we bring in capital through equity or debt to fund the growth those initiatives create.
Our founders have built energy flex markets, led transactions of billion-dollar businesses, and built software agencies that consistently deliver engineers in the top 3% globally. That pedigree shapes how we think, how we work, and what we expect from the people who join us.
The role
Every platform we build is only as good as the data flowing into it, and that data comes from the real world: utility systems, meters, devices in the field, ERPs, market operators, spreadsheets someone swears are the source of truth. Getting it in cleanly is genuinely hard, and it's where projects live or die.
You'll own data onboarding and integration end to end: scoping what a client actually has, mapping it to our platforms' models, building the pipelines that move it, and driving the inevitable surprises to resolution. Part engineer, part detective, part diplomat. You'll sit between client data teams and our engineers and keep the work moving.
What you will do
- Run data onboarding for client platforms, from first scoping call to validated data in production
- Work with client teams to identify and extract data from source systems: metering, GIS, SCADA, asset databases, ERPs
- Map source data to platform data models and document the mappings, transformations and exceptions
- Build and run ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations: REST APIs, file exchange, event streams
- Profile and validate incoming data: find the gaps, duplicates and unit mismatches, and drive them to resolution
- Feed what you learn back into our automation roadmap so manual steps become pipeline features
What you bring — Required
- Strong SQL and hands-on data wrangling in Python for profiling and transformation
- Experience on data migration or system integration projects with external stakeholders
- Ability to read and produce technical specs, data models and API documentation without supervision
- Comfort with ambiguity: source data will be messy, contacts will be busy, the process will change under you
- Clear plain-language communication with non-technical client teams
Strongly preferred
- Electricity utility data experience: meter data, GIS network models, SCADA telemetry, DER records
- Time-series data at scale
- Modern integration tooling: ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration (Airflow or similar)
- Flex market and energy systems experience is always a big bonus
Nice to have
- Exposure to regulated, security-conscious environments (ISO 27001, NERC CIP)
- Power engineering or network modelling exposure
Why this role
You'll be the reason a client gets value in weeks rather than months. The role is varied by design: part analyst, part data engineer, part client lead. And as we automate more of the pipeline, you shift from doing the wrangling to designing how it gets automated.
What you get
- A competitive package that reflects the calibre we hire at
- Access to every AI tool on the market (as long as it has passed security) with team support and budget to get you set up and moving fast
- Hard, interesting problems: real AI in production, real scale, real consequences. Not demos and decks
- Direct access to some of the most experienced operators in the country
- A team that will stretch you, back you, and make you better
The interview process
Our process is straightforward and moves fast: a short video interview (we know engineers hate this — the only people who don't hate it are in sales — but it's an important and necessary step, and if you can't push outside your comfort zone, you're not going to fit in here), then a technical deep-dive on real problems, not puzzles, then a final conversation with the founders. We move quickly for the right person.
