About 10x Labs

We wrap our arms around businesses and help them scale. We work with enterprises and fast-growing companies to implement AI strategy, workflow automation, and build custom software. Not as a vendor, but as a genuine partner with skin in the game.

We move at a pace most businesses have never experienced, and we hold ourselves to a standard most agencies can't match. We don't pitch solutions. We sit with our clients, understand where they're stuck, and build the systems that get them unstuck. Quickly and properly.

The work is the kind people actually want on their CV: agent-first platforms running national field operations at around 90% automation, electric vehicle operating systems for everything from cars to trucks and buses, AI making real operational decisions in regulated industries, and rescues of platforms other teams couldn't deliver. And for the right businesses we go further. We unlock them: we build new products we come up with together, and we bring in capital through equity or debt to fund the growth those initiatives create.

Our founders have built energy flex markets, led transactions of billion-dollar businesses, and built software agencies that consistently deliver engineers in the top 3% globally. That pedigree shapes how we think, how we work, and what we expect from the people who join us.

The role

There's still a perception that design is just UI. We don't buy it. The UI is the last 20% of the job. The first 80% is strategy, research, and the moments where you push back on a brief because you know the user won't get it. That's the designer we're hiring.

You'll design across two very different worlds, often in the same week: consumer apps that need to tell someone one thing fast, and operational dashboards where a professional is triaging hundreds of assets at once. Same design principles, totally different execution. The domains are the interesting ones: energy, electric vehicles, field operations, AI-driven workflow platforms. Complex systems that need to feel effortless.

You'll own the design process end to end, from discovery and research through UX, visual design and QA. And you'll do it in an AI-forward studio: we prototype in code with AI tools, we move from blank Figma file to shipped product fast, and we expect our designer to be as excited about that as we are.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end design across web and mobile: discovery, research, UX, UI, prototyping and design QA
  • Design consumer-facing apps and data-rich operational dashboards, and know why those are different jobs
  • Run research with real users, from consumers to field operators, and turn what you learn into decisions
  • Build and maintain our design systems with reusable components across products
  • Work inside product trios with product managers and engineers, and push back when the brief is wrong
  • Prototype fast with AI tools, and help us keep raising the bar on how design and AI work together

What you bring — Required

  • 4+ years designing shipped digital products across web and mobile
  • End-to-end range: research and strategy through to pixel-level UI, not just one slice
  • Experience making complex, data-heavy systems understandable for real users
  • Figma mastery and design-system depth: components, tokens, documentation
  • A portfolio that shows your thinking, not just your screens. We'll read the case studies
  • Plain-spoken collaboration with engineers, product and clients

Strongly preferred

  • Experience designing for both consumer and operator/enterprise audiences
  • Hands-on with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools, ideally including building with code-generation tools
  • Brand and visual identity capability on top of product design
  • Flex market and energy systems experience is always a big bonus

Nice to have

  • Enough front-end literacy (HTML/CSS/React) to speak the engineers' language
  • Motion design or data-visualisation chops

Why this role

Your work will end up in homes and operations rooms across the country, not in a concept deck. You'll be the design conscience of a company that ships fast, with the seniority around you to make the work better and the autonomy to own the craft bar. If you've been the only designer fighting for research time in a feature factory, this is the other thing.

What you get

  • A competitive package that reflects the calibre we hire at
  • Access to every AI tool on the market (as long as it has passed security) with team support and budget to get you set up and moving fast
  • Hard, interesting problems: real work in production, real scale, real consequences. Not demos and decks
  • Direct access to some of the most experienced operators in the country
  • A team that will stretch you, back you, and make you better

The interview process

Our process is straightforward and moves fast: a short video interview (we know most people hate this — the only ones who don't are in sales — but it's an important and necessary step, and if you can't push outside your comfort zone, you're not going to fit in here), then a portfolio and craft deep-dive on real problems, then a final conversation with the founders. We move quickly for the right person.
